strange eyes

Photo of a fuzzy jumping spider with its eight eyes clearly visible.

Jumping Spider

The jumping spider, with its eight eyes, has the best vision of the arachnids. The two smaller side eyes take in peripheral vision while the slightly bigger side eyes act as distance estimators. The large central pair of eyes form the image.
