Blind and Low Vision Support Group Resuming!

Host: Dr. Donald Fletcher Dr. Don Fletcher and Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute are excited to announce the restarting of the Blind and Low Vision Support Group! Previously paused during the pandemic, we are resuming the monthly meetings starting February 19th and will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. Smith-Kettlewell seeks to provide a safe and secure place to ask questions, voice concerns and learn more about blindness and low vision. We invite individuals with low vision/blindness, their family members/caregivers, researchers, eye care and rehabilitation clinical professionals, and industry representatives who would like to learn and share their insights. Here, you can learn more about cutting-edge research that specifically relates to blindness and low vision. Some other topics include rehabilitation, therapy, and new technology that aim to improve daily functions. This meeting is totally free, and we hope you join us!

CVIers Discussion Group for Parents and Children with Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI)

The CVIers & Parents Discussion Group will hold its next meeting on Monday, June 3rd from 12:00 p.m to 1.30 p.m. PST. A systematic approach to the diagnosis of CVI in babies and toddlers – for parents

Literacy skills for students with CVI

On Thursday we have our much-anticipated speaker- Dr. Cay Holbrook. If you search her name you come up with so many publications, research projects, keynotes, books, and editing credits it is hard to sift through it all! Dr. Gordon Dutton, Emeritus Professor of Visual Science at Glasgow Caledonian University

The CVI Society and CVI Scotland

Professor Gordon Dutton is a Pediatric Ophthalmologist who worked for over 20 years at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow. His special interests include medical education and cerebral visual impairment (CVI) in children and adults.
