High School Volunteer Opportunities at SKERI

Are you a high school student looking for volunteer opportunities?

Are you interested in getting to know people with blindness and low vision?

Come volunteer with us!

There are several opportunities for students to engage in volunteer projects at Smith-Kettlewell. Earn certified volunteer hours while you learn about vision science and aid your community by providing services that support our Low Vision and Blindness Support Group!

Projects include:

  • Canvasser: Help spread the word about the Low Vision and Blindness Support Group by posting fliers around San Francisco and getting in touch with community leaders.
  • Social Media Manager: Interested in preparing for a career in communications? Gain experience engaging the public by creating captivating posts to boost the Smith-Kettlewell social media presence!
  • Support Group Organizer: Provide hands-on support for the members of the support group by helping ensure everyone finds their way to the group meeting.
  • Get involved in YouDescribe – Watch the video – Write a script – Edit and Publish!

If these roles interest you and you would like to contribute your time and expertise to our cause, we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us by emailing volunteer@ski.org, and providing a brief description of your interests and skills.
