Abstract

Dr. Joshua Miele will discuss usability and design, taking us on a quick tour of several different development patterns found in the assistive technology world. The technologies needed by blind and visually impaired people are designed in different ways by different groups for different needs and often have long-lasting and fascinating social impacts.

He will also discuss the development of wayfinding tools such as GPS, mobile devices, tactile displays, virtual and augmented reality, and more.
