Join Annemarie Rossi, Occupational Therapist, and scientists at Smith-Kettlewell to share experiences and learn about resources for members of the blind and low vision community through the Blindness and Low Vision Support Group, founded by Dr. Donald Fletcher, M.D. This support group is completely free. Each month a new topic will be discussed. There will also be opportunities to learn about cutting-edge research on low vision happening at the Institute.

All are welcome to attend.  No labels here.  Whether you have vision challenges yourself, you have a loved one with vision related issues, or maybe you are just curious to learn about eye health, safety, and tools that might help when participating in daily tasks, we hope you will join us.

For some meetings we will have a guest speaker, and for some meetings we will have a panel discussion among attendees, but every time we meet we invite you to share your perspective with the group and your experiences with any strategies or tools being presented.

Our upcoming topics (all hybrid) will include:

  • Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC)
  • Low Vision Month
  • Fall Prevention Strategies
  • Bay Area Outreach and Recreation program (BORP)
  • Blindness and Low Vision Support Group, Year Recap

Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month and are hybrid (both in-person and via Zoom).

In-Person at 2318 Fillmore St, San Francisco, CA 94115
