The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute is proud to announce that August 3rd, 2023, has been officially proclaimed Smith-Kettlewell's Day in San Francisco! We thank the Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, and the City and County of San Francisco for helping recognize the Institute on this special occasion, commemorating our remarkable 60th Anniversary. August 3rd also marks the start of the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute's 60th Anniversary Functional Vision and Accessibility Conference in San Francisco.

Scanned ceremonial document with a gold trimmed border and florid title reading "Proclamation, City and County of San Francisco." Several recital paragraphs begin with "Whereas" and cite Smith-Kettlewell's 1963 founding, its early support from donors and patients, its ongoing pioneering research, and a demonstrated commitment to the community of blind and visually impaired persons. The document concludes with Mayor London Breed's proclamation of August 3, 2023 as Smith-Kettlewell's Day in San Francisco.
